Conviction for theft by Check carries the following maximum penalties:
Check for under $20.00 $500.00 FINE
Check for $20.00 - $499.99 $2000.00 FINE & 
6 Months JAIL TIME
Check for $500.00 - $1499.00 $4000.00 FINE & 
1 Year JAIL TIME
