The office of the
District Clerk was created by the Texas Constitution, Article V, Section
9. The District Clerk is elected county wide by the voters for a
four year term.

elected to serve particular judicial districts. The District Clerk
is the record-keeper for all documents and evidence before the district
courts. Clerks also swear in juries, track judicial files and issue
legal papers (such as subpoenas or warrants) at the direction of the judge |
