BRENDA WILLIAMS

ROGERS MIDDLE SCHOOL

I am presently in my 27th year of teaching at Rogers Independent School District. I am presently teaching 6th and 7th grade social studies. I have also taught language arts, speech, and 8th grade social studies. I enjoy teaching social studies because of the rich history that our country has to offer. I want to make a difference in the world and make a positive impact on the students. My educational background includes an Associate Degree from Temple College, a Bachelor Arts secondary degree from Mary Hardin-Baylor with a major in English and minor in history. I also have an elementary certification from Mary Hardin-Baylor. I have a Master’s degree from Texas A&M in Curriculum and Instruction.   Throughout my many years at Rogers, I have sponsored many activities. I have been a sponsor of PAL, cheerleading, Student Council, and many UIL events.

Presently, I am director of UIL events at Rogers Middle School. Also, I am our middle school’s TSTA representative. I have been an active member of TSTA for 27 years.  For the past two years, I have, along with another teacher, sponsored a Kids As Agent of Change project. This year, on March 7th, our project was chosen as Co-Champion. This meant so much to me because it had been a goal of mine to achieve this honor. It was called, Forward Through the Past, and included a written history, in book form, of Rogers. I also co-founded and co-sponsor the Eagle Historians which is a history club. It was through this club that the KAAOC project was done.
